Dr Sketchy’s Galway May Session: Back To The Future with Sarah Vixyn and Michelle Noir.
On May 17th, the crew packed up the Sketchy-mobile (Scarlett Nymph’s car) and made the monthly trip out wesht to bring one of pop culture’s favourite nerdgasms to the Art Monkeys of Galway, with a Back To The Future themed session.
The Dublin Branch of Dr Sketchy’s have done this theme once before, many moons ago at Kings of Concrete 2012. Deemed equal amounts success and disaster, (Success: The Session was full to the rafters / Disaster: All models and crew were sick and couldn’t enjoy it) – I personally was extremely eager to repeat the session in a bigger and bolder fashion for the Galway audience.
Models Sarah Vixyn and Michelle Noir took to the stage as Marty Mc Fly (Martha Mc Fly, if you will) and Doc Brown, complete with iconic red bomber jacket and Hawaiian shirt in tow. As usual, the set was designed, built, hot-glued, and built by host Scarlett Nymph; featuring a specially made Delorean made by the ever-crafty Michelle Noir.
Armed with delicious treats from Dungeons and Donuts and cheeky shots to award as prizes, Sarah and Michelle worked their way through the warm-up poses acting out the classic scenes from the film. The audience were also treated to a fantastic performance (inspired by the “Johnny B. Goode” scene) by Sarah Vixyn that was partially choreographed by yours truly and included a pair of tearaway pants and rhinestoned purple boxers.
I’ve picked out my favourite shots from the session, which I deem a full success, AND we even recruited a new crew member for the Galway branch; Ciara. Full photo set can be viewed on the Dr Sketchy’s Galway site, here.
The next Galway session takes place on Saturday June 14 in Kelly’s Galway with a Wizard of Oz theme.
